Purpose of loan:
This loan will be reinvested into the Prosper community. 100% of these funds will be used to fund higher interest loans on this site. I have excellent credit and repaying this loan is well within my means. My objective is to experience the lender side of Prosper and to have a little fun by playing the “margin game”. My financial situation:
I am a 35-year old executive with a diversified energy company. My total annual compensation exceeds $150k per year (base salary $125k with a 25% bonus paid each March). I have approximately $50k liquid that can be used anytime so repaying this loan is not a problem. In addition, I have a significant amount of money invested for the long-term.

Payoff:
By day, I’m a computer programmer at a stable insurance company. I’ve been there four years. Just got a raise and extra benefits. By night, I’m a composer/musician selling his work on the Internet. Yes, I’m actually selling my music! (No starving artist here. So, the loan will be paid back from my day gig and the sale of my recordings.

As backup, I am a lender on Prosper with over 6k loaned out.

You can see from my credit rating and stats that I am responsible with money. This is my second Prosper loan. (I paid off the first in 13 months.)

Getting your loan listing funded

When you creat a listing, your first objective is to be funded. Then you decide if it is an acceptable rate for you.

So first, you can try starting your listing at the maximum rate allowed by your state, even if that’s 29.9%. Because if your listing won’t fund at the max rate, there’s not much that can be done. Starting with a high rate also has the residual advantage of getting more eyeballs from lenders because many lenders only look at listings with bids or are already 100% funded.

Then, hopefully your listing does get funded and your rate starts to get bid down. Watch the listing carefully to see how low the rate falls. If it is still too high, then you can withdraw the listing. If the rate is low enought, congrats!

I plan on using this loan to reinvest in Prosper loans. I have been using my own money to invest in Prosper for over six months and I have gotten an excellent rate of return of around 14 - 15 %. Now I want to get my feet wet borrowing at a lower rate due to my good credit rating.

Consolidate Debt & Send My 2 Daughters to College

I will be using the money to payoff debt and send my daughter’s off to college and to pay for my youngest daughter that is a senior in high schools, college tuition so that she can do parallel enrollment program that she was accepted in college.

Purpose of loan:
Hello all. I am requesting a small business loan. My credit is great so you dont have to worry about me paying it back. I have excellent AA credit and have never been delinquent or late on any payments. I have never file for bankcruptcy and I have never even seen a debt collector or a repo man…

The loan is for a business that I am setting up and I need to cover my start up expenses. I am so confident that I can pay it back, thats why I am asking for the loan. My business plan requires that I meet people and requires travel and other expenses. Since traveling is expensive, this loan will help with those and other start up costs… I know this is a great opportunity for me and this is a good way for you investors to make interest onthis loan.
